This company is fast to take your money but slow to respond. They don't have any good contact options.

This company has horrible contact options. For what you charge, you should be providing access to a phone and or chat option with a real person. The chat that is visible online always says that you need to wait 48 hours for a response. That'a just unacceptable. The product itself is cool, but way overpriced. The books are overpriced, but when there's not much competition, they can charge whatever they want. My 1-star review is based on their terrible customer service contact options and their response time.

The inability get customer support for…

The inability get customer support for questions has kept me from recording. I contacted Charlie who was going out of town, and referred me to someone else and I never got a response. Since I didn't know who Nella was, I emailed the only person I had an emailed Rachel, the only person who I had an email address for at Remento, and still have not received a reply. I wanted to know how to share my story with my sisters, to ask for more information to include in my story.

Although I am elderly and not up with…

Although I am elderly and not up with all the modern technology, I think the concept of writing my book is excellent, however it is only now that I have understood the three ways my voice can be recorded. I am almost to the end, but need a few more weeks to complete, due to all the editing I have had to do. I am looking forward to my completed project. Sincerely, Beverley Price.

Highly Disappointing Service with No Solutions

I spent dozens of hours trying to use this service and it is far from advertised. It would take you way less time to hand paint all your photos than it would to use remento. The website glitches constantly. There is no customer service number- it sends you to a bot named "Happy" who gives you automated responses for weeks at a time as to why they can't fix your account. As I neared the end of my photo book I was no longer able to access my hundreds of hand picked photos and my entire time creating the book week after week was wasted. I never was able to add all my voice memos to the photos before my account stopped working. You also can't upload anything from an iphone because iphones use HEIF photos so they tell you to upload them to a computer and convert them and then upload them to the site. I'm due with my next baby in a few months and my entire journey with my first child is now undocumented after I spent so long trying to create something special for her first year. I now won't have a baby book for her first birthday party to share as planned .. or one at all. To this day a solution was never provided. If I could go back in time I'd have never used such a disappointing service.

Shut out with no warning

I have been excitedly working on my memories when all of a sudden, I was shut out of my account with no warning or message from Remento. I have been trying to reactivate the account, but all I get is AI with not helpful information. Getting help from them is nearly impossible.

Honest review

Honest review. Fantastic UX,UI and feature-set; however a somewhat predatory business model (subscriptions) for something that ultimately should not be a subscription model. I paid for 1 year (supposedly). My father recorded 7 prompts ( in 1 year ). He's 74! Now I have to shell out another almost $100 USD? So I paid for 7 responses? Pretty ridiculous, when you can essentially do this for Free with simple online tools.

Make it a sensible commentary.

The suggested topics were very, very much off the wall and would not have made a very coherent book to say the least. Here is what I will eventually put together as a memento: 1. In the Beginning 2. AI did not generate an accurate account of what I recored

When receiving the book I read my book. I am very glad I did I had several errors to correct. One big error was my husband Richard was called Grant in multiple stories. Also the book used third person instead of first person me telling the story. It was very strange for my memories to be read as if someone else was telling the stories. When recording I used the words I and me!!

My books arrived damaged

My first book arrived damaged. My daughter reported this and I was sent a second book which was also damaged in a similar way. I didn’t tell her because she would be upset. My husband’s first book was perfect.

The AI rewrite most often a miss

The AI rewrite of what I record most often misses important points and nuances. My daughter, who got Remento for me, almost always has to modify it to make itaccurate.

Kept calling for me to add stories when I was already done & ordered it!! Didn't explain how it worked - I had to ask questions like how long do I do this! Took a VERY long time for someone to get back to me! Are you going to post this review? You should.

My son gave me remento for my birthday

My son gave me remento for my birthday, but as I was adopted, a lot of the questions i cannot relate to as my parents were not my birth parents, and when I have to answer your questions, I either have to talk or have a camera which I dont have on my computer. I really wanted something I could answer by typing, and I also wanted my life story told from my birth to now. Sorry

Hounded by emails

seems like great idea. But I find it hard to navigate. tried one, it was way too short 7 wanted to preplan it & record & couldn't figure out. I just feel I'm being hounded by the frequent emails now.

I've been trying since December to send…

I've been trying since December to send this gift, and the experience has been incredibly frustrating. I purchased two books for my parents and in-laws as Christmas gifts. When I went to send them, the site wouldn’t allow it unless I committed to an annual subscription. I contacted head office, and they provided a different link—but that link showed no purchase history. I reached out again, and was sent two codes and yet another link. I just tried the codes, and they’re invalid. This has been hands-down the worst customer experience I’ve had in a long time—and to make matters worse, I’ve spent nearly $300 CAD on this. Please resolve this.

Zero stars

If it could be a zero star rating, that is what it would be. My mother, with terminal cancer, became too weak to talk at length within a few weeks of my ordering the Remento subscription. I emailed repeatedly starting less than 4 weeks after the purchase. No response. This is their response verbatim via chat today: ​ I understand this isn't the news you were hoping for. Since it's been 10 months since the purchase, it falls outside our standard 30-day refund policy. However, we'd love to help in another way! You have the option to reassign or re-gift the subscription to someone who might find it useful.

No audio on IPad and difficult to change prompts.

The Audio stopped working on my iPad. I can only use IPhone which is not a big problem. More frustrating though is trying to change prompts. Below the prompt is a statement “0r you can change prompts” underlined indicating you can click on it and assuming it will allow to change prompts. But no…. I asked this question earlier on support page and got no response.

Your recorded voice can be used against…

Your recorded voice can be used against you to order or obligate you by a bot. Once you no longer pay for subscription do you own your content…probably not. Why would you let someone else transcribe your words. Once you use the internet your privacy is no longer private no matter what one says. Too many hackers out there. Beware.

They delay..delay.. delay.. refunds

My 80-something Dad rarely checks his emails, but he’s comfortable using his phone. Remento only allows recording of stories, using text and email, in the USA. The rest of the world, it will only send emails (I’m in the ‘rest of the world’ bucket). I’ve tried to arrange a refund and it will take ‘around 3 weeks’ because their ‘engineering team’ need to work on it. Whoah- red flag right there. Just keep politely pushing.. and pushing.. as I did. Their internal training may seek to obfuscate, but if you’re persistent, your money will miraculously be processed same day. Whoever they have monitoring the TrustPilot account, is a PR spin doctor extraordinaire. 👎

Difficulties with the site.

I've had difficulty entering the photos and having them go with the appropriate story. Why do we have to find the photos and then write the story? The summation of my "favorite room".was terrible. Now I'm stuck on a story because Romento wants me to tell the story (for the 3rd or 4th time) of my favorite room again. Also, the stories are MY stories. My husband hasn't entered the picture yet. This issue might be with our daughter's fault because she listed Carol and Russell as the recipients.
